Maren is an award-winning director and teacher. She taught and directed musical theatre for two years at American Leadership Academy in Spanish Fork, Utah. During that time, she directed two musical theatre companies, main stage musicals, spring musicals, and the junior high show choir.
For two years in a row, she and her students were finalists in the Utah High School Musical Theatre Awards for Best Director, Best Musical, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Student Choreography. In 2023, her student won Best Actor and attended the Jimmy Awards in NYC. Her students also participated in and won awards at the Trills and Thrills Music Festival at Lagoon (Best in Show Choir Performance), Region and State Drama competitions, the Utah Theatre Association, and the Musical Theatre Competition of America in California.
She has since directed and music directed at Brigham Young University’s Broadway Boot Camp and taught private voice lessons from her home studio.
My Philosophy…
Pursuing a life in the performing arts excites me because it is a platform for all voices. The kaleidoscopic nature of musical theatre has given me the opportunity to learn from the resilient and unique individuals who make up this vast, diverse, and eclectic community. Their stories, personalities, and creativity have inspired and empowered me to find and appreciate my own voice. The performing arts are where I can “play and dance and live” as wholeheartedly and authentically me. It’s my mission to help you do the same.

Private Coaching & Masterclasses
As your voice teacher, I will build a foundation that will make you an unstoppable and versatile performer. This foundation is what I call The Power of Three. We start by building up your vocal technique which will include vocal/physical health, vocal anatomy, and music theory. From there, we work together to discover your personal essence (what makes you you). Knowing your essence will give you confidence and clarity in any audition or performance space. Lastly, I help you develop an honest performance using foundational acting practices. Using this methodology in my private teaching and masterclass workshops, I will help you unlock your unique artistic voice, find confidence in auditioning, and perform at a high level. I will also be your friend, advocate, and cheerleader in this tough but exciting industry.
Directing & Music Directing
As a music director and director, I will operate under the Power of Three to bring artistry, honesty, and heart to every performance. I care deeply about individuals in a cast and believe that a show is only as good as the preparation and training of those individuals as well as the unity and well-being of that cast. I bring playful energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to every rehearsal space. I compose exciting and invigorating visions for each show I direct, and am a high-contributor to any production team.
